Bonjour Tout le Monde!

Hi Dearies,

A warm welcome to my blog, Cherriesmatic!

My name is Cherrie, otherwise known as Ling Ci or mousey or meowz, because I am born in the year of the Rat. My blog is called Cherriesmatic because my best friend suggested that my name, 'Cherrie' , when paired with 'smatic', sounds like 'Charismatic'. Moreover, Charismatic refers to having a charm that inspires devotion in others. So...I thought, why not? Cherriesmatic shall just be my blog name. Voilà! Doesn't it sound charming and classy too? *giggles*

More about myself...
I am currently a final year Chinese Media & Communication's student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic . "Why Chinese?" is often a question that's being thrown at me. Why? I don't know either. I just remember I  chose my course simply because it's a bilingual course. I had no idea what was coming my way... Oh well. Now, I guess I have grown to love media because I get to learn various aspects of media like marketing, radio, editorial, videography, photography, translation, public relations and design!

Speak to me...
I am able to communicate fluently in English, Chinese and Hokkien. I know some French as well. To me, music is a universal language. So yes. I can read music notes also, because I play the piano! Achieved my Grade 8 ABRSM certificate but am lazy to continue with Diploma.

Am I an extrovert or introvert?
Good question. I guess I am an ambivert, albeit one who incline more towards the introvert side. Once I open up to someone, I can go extremely crazy with that person. Also, if anyone provokes me, my *ahlian mode* will be turned on. This usually surprises people when they happen o see me flare up, because I am usually a cheerful and 乖 person who wears a smile across my face. So yes, have courage and be kind but never take one's kindness for weakness for there will be karma. I do not have a wide social circle of friends because I believe that it's the quality and not the quantity of friends you make. All I need is my best friends; those whom I know I can be able to trust upon.

What brightens up my day instantly?
If you ask my friends, they can answer for me immediately... BREAD and protein bars are life! I am a bread and snacks monster. On average, I eat around 3 loaves of bread a day to keep me sane. Also, I am a health advocate so any food that's healthy, I love it. Salads, wraps, soup, popiah, Hong Kong egglets (waffles) are always welcome. Oh, and I love seafood and dim sum!

My stress reliever...
I am yet another vain lady who cares a lot for aesthetics and fashion so my bad habit is spending way too much on... skincare, makeup, clothes, books and snacks. Whenever I am stressed, I go on a shopping spree for the above mentioned and I go grocery shopping daily. (so auntie, I know haha). Baking and cooking for my loved ones is also what I love doing. On weekends when I am not called for internship work, I will probably be in my kitchen heaven filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods and food. That's when I feel super blessed!

Life's simple dose of happiness...
Exercising is my another hobby. All kinds of sports especially dance, yoga and RUNNING makes me a happy girl. I guess it's true that when we exercise, our body releases endorphins which make us happier. However, now that I am having my internship, I do not have any time to spare to exercise. It makes me really sad to know that my stamina is dropping and I can't commit to what I love doing.

What are my plans for the future?
It's both scary and exciting to think that in a few months' time, I am going to graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Everything feels so surreal. I already have in mind what I want to do but before it's fulfilled... It's just for me to know, for you to find out. :) That's all about me! Thank you for stopping by to read this little space of mine.

So come, here's a

BIG HUG for you.

TOODLES!

Au revoir et Merci beaucoup!

Truckloads love,
Cherrie
